Thank you for visiting my site.
My name is Marijke Hoebee. I love to travel, do yoga and listen to people’s stories. I love the unusual of the usual. I question everyone and everything. Yes, I am a very curious person.
A project is never too unusual for me. As a journalist, I sailed the seven seas for 6 months on a freight ship working together with the Russian crew. I drove, as a filmmaker, from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, all across Russia and Mongolia, over land to Beijing. More than 11.000 kilometers/6835 miles within one month! I went to Peru to film projects for a more sustainable future for farmers and teenage mums. And I taught filmmaking to 34 high school students while sailing on a tall ship from Amsterdam to the Caribbean and back. Their motto: You Sail, You Learn!
I think you just can’t travel enough. The world is such an amazing place! I studied in Sweden and England. I lived in San Francisco for 3 years and now I live both in Amsterdam and New York City. Yes, that’s right, two cities… It’s just best of both worlds!
I finished teacher training and have a Master in Education. I started as a teacher and educationalist and later I learned the art of movie making during 1,5 years of film school. Videography is my passport to meeting people, learning, and experiencing new cultures.
Storytelling is what I do. I teach and I make movies for television, profit and non-profit organizations. And more! Want to see some movies I made? Please check my video channel.
Please, I like to hear from YOU, what’s your story? Just give me a buzz!
